Poetry performance by Pulitzer Prize winner Jorie Graham, reading from her collections 'Killing Spree' and 'To 2040'.
Jorie Graham is performing at the Manchester Museum on Tuesday 20 October, starting at 7:00 pm. She'll be reading from Killing Spree and To 2040, two collections she describes as exploring today's most acute challenges: climate change, technology, political conflict, and the future of our shared humanity. Killing Spree in particular caught the attention of The New York Times, which called it "one of the few books of poetry that register the profound struggle of consciousness in our damaged world."
Graham is one of America's most acclaimed living poets, a Pulitzer Prize winner for Poetry and a recipient of the Laurel Prize. Born in New York City, she was raised and educated in Italy and France, and is now based in Iowa. Her published collections include To 2040, [To] the Last [Be] Human, Runaway, FAST, Never, and Sea Change.
