A baby and toddler drop-in session with crafts, stories and play, including making spider headdresses and reading The Very Busy Spider.
Creative Tiny Humans is back at HOME on Friday 30 October, from 10:30 to 12:30. It's a baby and toddler drop-in session run by HOME's Creativity Corner, and this one is all about spiders. The morning is built around making spider headdresses, playing with spider web sensory vibes, and reading The Very Busy Spider by Eric Carle. It's a hands-on session, so the little ones get to make things and explore rather than just sit and watch.
The session is led by Phoebe Foxtrot, an artist and community facilitator who runs it. Creative Tiny Humans takes place on one Friday every month, and the same mix of crafts, stories and play is at the heart of every morning. It's a drop-in, so you don't need to worry about a strict schedule — you just turn up with your baby or toddler and let them get stuck in. The spider theme fits the time of year, and the sensory play is designed for the youngest ones to explore at their own pace.
If you've never been to HOME's Creativity Corner, it's a dedicated space for making and playing, and this is one of the regular sessions they run for the under-fives. It's a good way to get out of the house on a Friday morning and let the kids run wild with some glue and glitter without having to tidy up afterwards. The spider headdresses are the main craft of the day, and the sensory play lets them feel and touch things that look like webs, with The Very Busy Spider as the story that ties it all together.
