A live episode of the Dream Space podcast featuring host Gemma Cairney and guest Eunice Olumide, with a short audience Q&A.
Eunice Olumide joins Gemma Cairney at Selfridges on Thursday 15 October for a live episode of the Dream Space podcast. It's a recording of the series ahead of its fourth season, and the format is simple: Olumide conjures up her dream space live on stage, followed by a short Q&A with the audience.
Olumide is a lot to fit into one sentence. Born and raised in Edinburgh, she was Scotland's first Black supermodel, and since then she's worked as a BAFTA and ARIAS nominated broadcaster, an internationally acclaimed model, an entrepreneur, a curator, an actress, a filmmaker, a musician, and a bestselling author. She's also an MBE. Cairney, who hosts, is a multi-award-winning broadcaster and author whose book The Immortal Sisterhood was adapted into a live show; her documentary radio series include The Leisure Society on BBC 6 Music and The Sound Odyssey on BBC Radio 4, and her books Open (2017) and The Immortal Sisterhood (Canongate) are both in print.
Dream Space takes listeners into an imaginary, limitless space to ask what art the world needs now. Past guests have included Es Devlin, Maxine Peake, Zawe Ashton and David Hoyle. This particular episode is part of a long-running partnership between Selfridges and Factory International, who've been working together for 15 years to bring culture into spaces other than traditional galleries or theatres.
