The new stand-up show from award-winning comedian Daniel Foxx, exploring his experiences with dating apps and breakups.
Daniel Foxx brings his new show, How Lovely, to HOME on Wednesday 21 October. It's his second live tour, following his debut Villain, and it runs for 110 minutes.
Foxx is a thirtysomething stand-up who built his following on social media, and How Lovely draws on his experience of a big breakup. He spends a good deal of the show contrasting the Richard Curtis rom-com life he'd imagined for himself in London with the much messier reality that actually played out. Even as it works through that, it still leans on dating apps and pop-culture references.
He's admitted he prefers the stage to online comedy, describing stand-up as "more intimate and gossipy" than the clips he's known for. Critics have compared his style to Joe Lycett's light camp, though some have noted he occasionally slips into Josh Widdicombe's habit of high-pitched incredulity rather than landing a punchline.
