Live string music performance of Bridgerton themes surrounded by candlelight at Hallé St Peter's.
The Northern String Quartet are playing the themes from Bridgerton at Hallé St Peter's on Thursday 29 October. It's part of the Concerts by Candlelight series, which pairs a string quartet with candlelight to rework well-known music, and this time the set is built around the melodies from the Netflix series.
The music is the main draw: the quartet takes the most popular themes from Shondaland's Bridgerton and plays them through to the end, with the sound filling the room while the audience sits in the soft glow of candlelight. If you've watched the show, you'll recognise the melodies; if you haven't, it's still a full evening of string music.
The venue is Hallé St Peter's, a Grade II listed church in the heart of Ancoats that dates back to 1859. It's the prime rehearsal and recording venue for the Hallé Orchestra, the Hallé Choir, and various Hallé Ensembles, and it's a regular home for the Concerts by Candlelight series. A 2019 rejuvenation added space for education workshops and small performances, and the room now takes in between 80 and 230 people. It's a relatively small space, so you're never far from the quartet.
