An enchanting live concert of dark fantasy film music from Tim Burton's films, performed by an 18-piece chamber orchestra.
The Illuminated Orchestra are playing at Manchester Opera House on Saturday 24 October, with a set built around the music of Tim Burton's gothic fantasy films. It's a live concert of dark fantasy film music, performed by an 18-piece chamber orchestra of classically trained musicians with live vocals, and the whole thing is played beneath the glow of a giant moon.
The repertoire draws on themes from The Nightmare Before Christmas, Edward Scissorhands, Charlie & The Chocolate Factory, Corpse Bride, Alice in Wonderland, Batman, Beetlejuice, Sleepy Hollow, Labyrinth, Wednesday, The Addams Family and The Haunting. It's not just Burton, either — the set puts his work alongside other cult classics of the dark and magical, so you'll hear Labyrinth and The Haunting in the same evening as Batman and Beetlejuice.
The show comes from the creators of The Best of Hans Zimmer & Film Favourites Illuminated, which customers rated 4.7/5. This is part of a UK tour, with a further date in Birmingham on Tuesday 8 December.
