Premier League football match between West Ham United and Southampton at the London Stadium in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.
West Ham United take on Southampton at the London Stadium on Saturday 24 October, kick-off at 15:00. It's a Saturday afternoon fixture in the EFL Championship, so it's a proper day out in East London.
If you're not familiar with the club, West Ham β known as 'The Hammers' or 'The Irons' β were founded in 1895 and are one of English football's most historic and best-supported sides. They've produced three World Cup winners from their ranks: Bobby Moore, Geoff Hurst and Martin Peters. Their fiercest rivalry is with Millwall, the 'Dockers Derby', which dates back to 1899 when both clubs were formed by dockworkers on the River Thames. These days they're competing in the Championship following their relegation from the Premier League, with Nuno EspΓrito Santo in charge and Jarrod Bowen as captain.
The match is at the London Stadium in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, East London, where the club moved in 2016 after more than a century at the Boleyn Ground, Upton Park. The stadium was built for the 2012 London Olympics and holds 62,500. It's divided into four stands: the Bobby Moore, the Billy Bonds, the Sir Trevor Brooking and the West Stand. If you're heading there for the first time, it's worth knowing which stand you're in before you arrive.
