A free under-25s night with live performance, open mic, guided reflection and games at the Royal Festival Hall.
Wavelengths takes over the Royal Festival Hall on Thursday 22 October, a night for under-25s that runs from 5.45pm to 8.30pm. It's part of the Southbank Centre's Autumn Open Doors, and the organisers describe it as a creative remedy to the world around us. The evening is split across different rooms, each with its own vibe, so you can drift between them rather than sticking to one thing.
There's a Relax Room for quieter activities and guided reflection inspired by water, an Energise Room for live performance and an open mic, and a Gather Space with games and soft drinks. The open mic is open to budding singers, rappers, poets and vocal collectives, all backed by a live house band, so you can perform with a full sound behind you without having to bring your own. It's run as a Relaxed Performance, with a relaxed approach to noise and movement and noise-cancelling headphones and sensory toys available if you need them.
