A podcast-style day of talks from the broadsheets, with live music, comedy, spoken word, craft workshops and a roast lunch in a living-room setting.
Sunday Papers Live returns to the Bourne & Hollingsworth Buildings in Clerkenwell on Sunday 6 December, running from 12:00 to 6:00 PM. It's a podcast-style live talk format that takes the Sunday broadsheets and brings them to life section by section: News, Politics, Culture, Society, Art, Lifestyle and Environment. Each section is presented in an oversized living room by an expert speaker, performer or group, with talks lasting between 15 and 40 minutes, followed by audience questions. There's also live charades for the crossword.
The venue, just off Exmouth Market, is turned into what the organisers call the capital's largest living room, filled with worn settees, chesterfields, tea and cake, and a buffet-style roast lunch with meat and vegetarian options. The afternoon is intentionally unhurried, with guests drifting between the talks, craft workshops, live music, spoken word, comedy and interactive games. Smoking jackets, blankets, knitting and cats are encouraged.

It's a long, slow-paced day rather than a tight schedule, so you can pick and choose what you want to see and when. The roast lunch is part of the draw, and the whole thing is designed around the idea of spending a Sunday afternoon in a big, comfortable room with a few different things going on at once. Tickets are £39.50 for the whole day or £25 for the afternoon only.
