In-person LSE public event with journalist Rana Foroohar in the Marshall Building.
Rana Foroohar is speaking at the Marshall Building on Friday 23 October, as part of the LSE Chill series. It's an in-person public event, so it's open to anyone who wants to come along and listen rather than just the LSE crowd.
Foroohar is a journalist and author who writes on the intersection of finance, politics, and culture, and she'll be the sole feature of the evening. The session runs from 6pm to 8pm, which gives it a good bit of room to breathe — two hours means there's space for her to lay out her arguments and for the floor to push back with questions afterwards, rather than a rushed forty-minute slot. If you've followed her work, you know she tends to look at the bigger picture of how money and power actually move, so it's the kind of thing that works better as a conversation than a lecture.
The venue is The Great Hall in the Marshall Building, LSE's newer site in the heart of London. It's a public event, so you don't need to be a student or staff member to get in. If you're coming from elsewhere in the city, it's right in the mix of things, easy to get to on a Friday evening before the weekend properly kicks in.

It starts at 6pm and wraps up by 8pm, so you're out in time for dinner or a drink afterwards. If you're planning to head in, just keep in mind it's a public session, so it's worth arriving a bit early to get a good spot.
