Cameron Mackintosh's West End production of Boublil and Schönberg's musical, with Ian McIntosh as Jean Valjean and Oliver Savile as Javert.
Les Misérables is at the Sondheim Theatre on Shaftesbury Avenue, with bookings now extended through 2 October 2027. It's Cameron Mackintosh's West End production of the musical by Boublil and Schönberg, based on Victor Hugo's 19th-century French epic. The show celebrated its 40th anniversary in the West End last October, and it's one of the longest-running and most popular in the world: seen by over 150 million people in 57 countries, translated into 22 languages, and collected more than 275 major awards, including five Olivier Awards, eight Tony Awards and five Helpmann Awards.
Set in 19th-century France, the story follows former prisoner Jean Valjean, pursued for decades by his policeman nemesis Javert. It's an epic journey from the French countryside to the Parisian sewers, filled with broken dreams, unrequited love, passion, sacrifice and redemption. The score includes some of the most recognisable songs in musical theatre: 'I Dreamed a Dream', 'On My Own', 'Bring Him Home', 'One Day More' and 'Master Of The House'.
The current cast features Ian McIntosh as Jean Valjean, Oliver Savile as Javert, Stefanie Jones as Fantine, Harry Hepple as Thénardier, Mina Anwar as Madame Thénardier, Jess Folley as Éponine, Thiago Phillip Felizardo as Marius, Joe Griffiths-Brown as Enjolras and Lucia McLaughlin as Cosette.
