Post-Navratri Garba night with live singing by Kirtidan Gadhvi, with traditional Garba and Raas dance, family-friendly.
Kirtidan Gadhvi is bringing a post-Navratri Garba night to JFS School in Kingsbury on Saturday 24 October. He's billed as the 'King of Garba', and the whole evening is built around traditional Garba and Raas dance performed to his live singing, so it's as much about getting on your feet as it is about listening.
If you're not familiar, Garba and Raas are the traditional folk dances of Gujarat, usually performed in circles. This is a post-Navratri celebration, which means it's a continuation of the festivities that follow the nine nights of Navratri. Gadhvi provides the live vocals, and the night is described as a family-friendly, community atmosphere of music, devotion and dance, so it's one you can bring the whole household along to.
The evening is presented by DBN Live London, Lotus Productions and Hindva Events. Children under 3 go free and don't need a ticket, which makes it easier to bring the little ones along without worrying about the cost.
