Free talk with artist Sahra Hersi about her creative practice and her 'Selects' display at V&A East, in conversation with curator Chloe Kellow.
Sahra Hersi is talking about her creative practice at V&A East Museum on Thursday 22 October, from 19:00 to 20:30. It's a conversation with V&A East curator Chloe Kellow, and the whole thing is free, part of the museum's free October programme.
Hersi is an East London-based artist and spatial designer, and this session is built around her reflecting on her practice. There's a specific hook to it, too: she's talking about her curation of one of the inaugural 'Selects' displays in the Why We Make galleries at V&A East. If you're interested in how an artist actually puts together a display within a museum setting, that's exactly where this lands.
It's a conversation rather than a formal lecture, so it'll be Hersi in dialogue with Kellow, talking through her work and the process behind the 'Selects' display. If you've been following the opening of V&A East, this is a chance to hear one of the artists involved explain how they approached their part of the Why We Make galleries from the inside.
