One-off Test match between England and Bangladesh at Lord's, opening England's 2027 international season.
England take on Bangladesh at Lord's Cricket Ground on Friday 28 May 2027, the first Test match of England's 2027 international season. It's a rare fixture: England haven't hosted Bangladesh at the Home of Cricket since 2010, and the two sides haven't met in a five-day Test in England for more than a decade.
It's a one-off match that serves as a curtain-raiser for a massive summer at Lord's. The ground will host both the Men's and Women's Ashes this year, with the second Ashes Test scheduled here from 30 June. England play this Test after a five-match one-day series against Pakistan and before the Ashes open at Trent Bridge on 18 June, so it sits right in the middle of a heavy run of cricket.
The setting carries its own weight. Thomas Lord laid out the present ground in 1814, and the Marylebone Cricket Club has owned it ever since — they still write the Laws of the game. Alongside the Pavilion sits the cricket museum, and the honours boards record every Test century and five-wicket haul made here. The May 2010 match left its mark on those boards: Jonathan Trott's 226, Tamim Iqbal's 103, and Steven Finn's five for 87.
