Third edition of the TOMB night, with two DJs playing industrial, EBM and techno on the factory floor at Commune.
TOMB returns to Commune on Friday 30 October, the third edition of the night and one they're billing as the venue's freakiest and spookiest yet. It's a fitting slot for the date, falling just a few days after Halloween.
Two DJs, @karmantheartist and @dj_brooksy_michelle.brooks, take over the factory floor at Commune. The night runs on industrial, EBM and techno, the kind of hard, rhythmic electronic music that sits comfortably with the goth and post-punk labels attached to the event. They describe the sound as 'music as catharsis', and the industrial and EBM side of things points towards the heavier, more mechanical end of the spectrum rather than the dancefloor-friendly stuff you'll find in most clubs.
It's the third time TOMB has run, so the night is starting to find its feet. The two DJs share the bill, each playing their part in a set that leans into the darker, more abrasive side of electronic music. If you're into industrial, EBM and techno, this is exactly the kind of thing they're playing.
