Liverpool's biggest Halloween night with a Stranger Things 'HAWKINS awaits' theme, live actors, venue transformation and tech house, disco, hip hop, RnB and bashment.
Skint Things are taking over Moloko on Tuesday 27 October for their Halloween special, a night run by Cool It Events. It's built around a full venue transformation, so the space is dressed for the occasion rather than just a few cobwebs on the speakers. There are live actors working the room throughout the night, and the whole thing is tied together by a 'HAWKINS awaits' theme — a nod to Stranger Things that should be obvious enough to get the gist even if you've never seen the show.
On the music, they're running a wide mix. The set moves from tech house and disco into hip hop, party RnB and bashment, so it's more of a multi-genre night than a single room sticking to one sound. If you're into the house side of things, you'll find it here, and the RnB and bashment keep it leaning towards a party atmosphere rather than a proper clubber's night. It's the kind of spread that works when you're out with a group and not everyone wants the same thing on the go.
It's billed as Liverpool's biggest Halloween event, and with the venue transformation and live actors, there's a fair bit more going on than just a DJ in a booth. The 'HAWKINS awaits' theme gives it a specific hook, and the music covers a lot of ground across the night. If you're looking for a Halloween night out in the city, this is one of the bigger ones on the calendar.
