A hands-on networking session where attendees learn the basics of podcasting and create their own sample podcast.
Power of the Pod is a hands-on networking session running at Rodney Street Studios on Thursday 22 October, from 11:00 to 12:30. It's hosted by Adam and Adam, a radio presenter and filmmaker duo, and it's one of the first things happening at the brand-new studios in the heart of Liverpool.
Over the ninety minutes, the two of them walk you through the basics of recording a great conversation. It's not just a talk, though — everyone gets behind the mic to make their own sample podcast. You'll get a feel for how to set up a recording, how to guide a conversation, and what it actually sounds like when you're the one on the other side of the glass. By the time you leave, you'll have a bit of your own audio to show for it.
There's no prior experience needed, so you don't have to be a podcaster or a broadcaster to get involved; it's as much about meeting other people in the room as it is about the recording. The session is open to over-18s only. It's a morning slot, so it's a good one if you're looking for something to do mid-week rather than an evening out.
