A festive evening of chats, songs and laughter with Nana Funk, with special guest Eithne Browne and musician Brian Nash.
Nana Funk is back for her annual Christmas party at Everyman Theatre on Saturday 12 December, held downstairs in the venue's lower space. It's become a bit of a fixture of the city's festive season, and this year follows on from last Christmas's run with an evening of chats, songs and laughter. The whole thing is described as like 'Wogan, if Wogan was a Nana with a questionable hip and a mysterious past'.
Nana Funk is the stage persona of Eithne Browne, a Liverpool acting figure whose career goes back more than 30 years. You'll recognise her from original West End roles in Blood Brothers and Shirley Valentine, and television parts like Chrissy Rogers in Channel 4's Brookside and midwife Irene Stocks in ITV's Emmerdale. She's also the voice of The Mersey Ferries and a recipient of Merseyside's Woman of the Year award. On the bill this time is Nasher (Brian Nash), a performing musician with over 40 years' experience who started out in 1982 as lead guitarist in Frankie Goes To Hollywood. Special guests are still to be announced.
