Daily Anglican service of Morning Prayer at Liverpool Cathedral, with Bible readings and thanks for the day to come.
Morning Prayer is on at Liverpool Cathedral on Saturday 8 May, running from 8:30 am to 9:00 am in the Lady Chapel. It's part of the daily cycle of services the Cathedral holds, so if you've never been, this is one of the easiest ways to get a feel for what goes on there.
Morning and Evening Prayer happen every day, in common with Christians across the world, and the format is simple: giving thanks to God for the day to come and the day that's past, and reading passages from the Bible. It's a quiet, steady start to the morning, and since it's a daily thing, you can drop in whenever it suits you. The services are led by rotating clergy and lay participants, so the voice leading the prayer changes from day to day.
If you're more of an evening person, there's Evensong, the sung version of Evening Prayer. It's one of the most distinctive parts of the Cathedral's worship, with the choir singing psalms, the ancient hymns of Israel, and songs drawn from the life of Christ, most notably his mother Mary. Between the two, you've got a full day of prayer to choose from.

Beyond the services, the Cathedral runs Prayer for Liverpool, which lets visitors submit their own prayer requests, and it prays daily for healing and for strength. The Cathedral itself is a registered charity (no 1205970) and has been open since 1904. Morning Prayer runs from 8:30 am to 9:00 am in the Lady Chapel, at St James Mount, Liverpool L1 7AZ.
