Free hands-on session for teachers and educators to explore winter nature-based outdoor learning activities and seasonal crafts.
LJMU Natural Curriculum Hub are running a festive activities session at Wavertree Church of England School on Thursday 3 December, from 1 pm to 3 pm. It's part of their 2026 Natural Curriculum Hub programme, and it's run by LJMU's School of Education.
It's a practical, hands-on session for teachers and educators, so it's more of a workshop than a talk. The whole thing is built around outdoor learning activities inspired by the winter season, with a focus on wellbeing, creativity, environmental awareness and cross-curricular learning. The activities are designed to be accessible to all learners, including those with SEND, so the ideas you pick up here are meant to work in a real classroom, not just in a perfect scenario.
On the day, you'll take part in nature-based activities and seasonal crafts using natural materials, and there's time to share practice and resources with other colleagues who've come along. It's as much about the people in the room as the activities themselves. To keep things going, there are hot drinks and festive refreshments on hand.
