Masterclass led by LCVS funding adviser Marianne Manson on how to apply for Level 1 National Lottery Heritage Grants.
LCVS is running a Heritage Lottery Funding Masterclass at their Dale Street office on Wednesday 3 February, from 1 pm to 4 pm. It's part of their wider Training | Funding Masterclasses series, and this one is led by Marianne Manson, an experienced heritage funding adviser who knows the National Lottery Heritage Grants inside out.
The session is aimed at organisations applying for Level 1 grants, which run from £10,000 up to £250,000. The scope of what counts as heritage here is wide: anything from the past that people value and want to pass on to future generations. That could be improving natural habitats, collating oral history, community archaeology, or enhancing displays in a museum, library or archive. If you've got a project that fits, this is where you figure out how to actually get it funded.
Over the three hours, Manson walks you through the funder's four investment principles, how to evidence need, how to develop project outcomes, and how to write a persuasive application. It's a practical look at what the National Lottery Heritage Fund is looking for, rather than a general chat about funding. If you're completely new to project development, LCVS suggests taking their 'Preparing Funding Applications and Identifying Funders' course first.
