Night of bass, garage, jungle and drum and bass curated by Liverpool DJs and presented by the Fractured Sound Collective.
Fractured Sound Collective are bringing Boss Bass Beats to Lost Art Skate Shop on Saturday 14 November, a night of bass, garage, jungle and drum and bass curated by Liverpool-based DJs. It's a session that pulls from the bass-heavy side of the city's electronic scene, with the collective putting together a line-up of emerging DJs and MCs from across the North West.
If those four genres sound like a lot to cover in one go, that's the point. The night moves through them rather than sticking to one: the swing of garage, the breakbeats of jungle, and the heavier, faster weight of drum and bass. It's a broad stretch of bass music, and the collective describes it as a night curated by Liverpool DJs, so the selection comes from people who know the city's dancefloors. The addition of MCs means there'll be voices on the mic throughout, not just records running.
It's also a showcase for the newer end of the scene. The collective is focusing on emerging talent from the North West, so you'll hear DJs and MCs who are still making their mark rather than the usual names. If you've been following the bass and breakbeat scene around the city lately, this is where a lot of that newer energy is landing.
