Sunday evening Catholic charismatic service blending contemporary worship with liturgy and sacrament in the Lady Chapel of Liverpool Cathedral.
Catholic Charismatic Service is on at Liverpool Cathedral this Sunday, 18 October, and it's one of a regular run that goes well into the winter. It's held in the Lady Chapel, which is a good spot to know before you head in, as it's a distinct space within the cathedral rather than the main nave.
The service itself blends contemporary charismatic worship with liturgy and sacrament, so it sits somewhere between a modern praise gathering and a more traditional Catholic mass. It's run by a group that describes the service as a place to hear about upcoming events and to journey together in faith, and they make a point of welcoming both first-timers and regulars, so you don't need to be a regular to feel at home there.
One of the more distinctive things about the Lady Chapel is that it's also home to 'Sepas', a group the Cathedral started in early 2014 that brings a large number of Persians to worship there. It's a nice bit of context to keep in mind when you're in the room.

If this Sunday doesn't work, there's plenty more to choose from. The service runs on Sunday nights at 17:00, and the current stretch includes 25 October, then 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29 November, and finally 6 and 13 December. It's a long run, so if you can't make this one, you've got plenty of dates to pick from over the next couple of months.
