Interactive wallaby encounter at Lotherton Wildlife World where visitors can meet and feed the estate's wallabies up close.
The Wallaby Experience kicks off at Lotherton Wildlife World on Saturday 17 October, and it runs right through to Thursday 31 December, so there's plenty of time to fit it in over the autumn and winter. It's part of the wildlife collection on the grounds of Lotherton, an Edwardian estate run by Leeds Museums and Galleries. The session itself lasts about 30 minutes, and the feeding happens at 10.30am.
During the experience, you get to meet and feed the estate's troupe of wallabies up close. It's one of a few animal encounters they run: the centre also does Capybara and Penguin experiences, so if you're after more than one, you can pair them up. And if you want to keep the connection going after you've left, you can adopt one of the resident animals, like a Red-necked Wallaby, to support Wildlife World.
Beyond the animals, the estate itself is worth a wander. It takes in the historic Lotherton Hall, a Regency-period house with later Victorian and Edwardian extensions by Colonel Gascoigne, and formal Edwardian gardens. So if you've got the time, you can make a proper day of it and see the house and gardens around the experience.

One thing to keep in mind: it's for ages 10 and over only, and children have to be accompanied by an adult. It's £70 for two people or £120 for four, with the feeding at 10.30am.
