Soul night with live music from The Soul Shebang, a Yorkshire collective of funk and soul, at The Domino Club on Grand Arcade.
The Soul Shebang are playing The Domino Club on Saturday 24 October, a soul night that runs from 10:20 pm until 1 am. Doors open at 6 pm, with live music starting at 7 pm.
The Soul Shebang are a powerhouse collective drawn from every corner of Yorkshire, united by a mission to celebrate the music that has defined the heart and the dancefloor since the 1960s. They build on the belief that a great song is mightier than any individual, and as a high-octane ensemble, they deliver a wall of sound and a masterclass in hand-clapping, foot-stomping and whistle-blowing energy. It's a full-band approach to soul, with the focus on the songs and the dancefloor rather than any one name.
The night is presented by The Domino Club, a live music venue in the basement of a Grade II listed building on Grand Arcade. It stages live music from Wednesday to Sunday, mostly funk, soul, blues and jazz, with special events on Tuesdays and a jazz jam on the first Sunday of each month. It's a standing room venue with a small number of tables and cocktails at the bar; for the rest of the week, entry is pay-as-you-feel, with all the money going to the musicians. The club is strictly 18+ and has no accessible entrance because it's in a basement.
