Live jazz set followed by an open jam session held every third Sunday at Sela Bar & Pizzeria.
The Sela Bar Jazz Jam runs every third Sunday of the month at Sela Bar & Pizzeria, 20 New Briggate in the city centre. It's a two-part night: a live jazz set to start, followed by an open jam session where musicians can step up and play. If you're just there to listen, the first half does the heavy lifting; if you play, the second half is where you get involved.
Because it's a monthly thing, it's easy to keep in the back of your mind. The next few dates are Sunday 15 November 2026 and Sunday 17 January 2027, both starting at 20:00. It's a Sunday night, so it's the kind of thing you can roll into without worrying about a big Monday morning, and the late start gives you plenty of time to get sorted first.

Sela Bar & Pizzeria sits on New Briggate, right in the thick of it, so it's an easy one to get to from wherever you're coming from. Entry is £5.00, which is a fair price for a full evening of live music, and the open jam means the night keeps going long after the first set has finished. If you're a player, bring your instrument; if you're not, just bring yourself and a drink.
