Live show by The Drop Jonnies, the Liverpool indie rock band, at Hyde Park Book Club on Headingley Lane.
The Drop Jonnies play Hyde Park Book Club on Wednesday 18 November, with the set running from 7:30pm to 10:00pm. It's one of three dates on a headline tour that takes them through Liverpool, London and Leeds, and the Leeds stop falls on a midweek night in Headingley.
They're a Liverpool band fronted by Ed, Ollie, Max and Tom, and they describe their sound as raw, energetic and honest music driven by the sharp guitar influence of the Libertines and the Cribs. It's a sound that pulls together pop hooks and a gritty lyrical edge, and they've been drawing growing crowds across the UK lately. They recently sold out District, a 300-capacity venue in Liverpool, and have been packing out dive bars in London.
The tour is built around their new single, 'Marie', which you'll hear live on the night. The three dates — Liverpool, London and Leeds — are the headline shows they're using to get it out there, so this is one of the few chances to catch them in the north this autumn.
