Rhythm and blues night with some of Leeds' leading musicians at the 18+ venue The Domino Club on Grand Arcade.
The Domino Rhythm and Blues Band play The Domino Club on Thursday 5 November, with the music starting at 10:00pm and doors opening at 6:30pm. It's a mid-week slot in the city centre, so you've got plenty of time to get there and settle in before the band takes the stage.
The band brings together some of Leeds' leading musicians, and as the name suggests, the night is built around rhythm and blues. The Domino Club is a live music venue in the basement of a Grade II listed building on Grand Arcade, and it runs live music from Wednesday to Sunday, mostly funk, soul, blues and jazz, with special events on Tuesdays and a jazz jam on the first Sunday of each month. It's a standing room venue with a small number of bookable tables and a bar serving cocktails.
Because it's a basement, the club has no accessible entrance. It's strictly 18+, and there's a free cloakroom on most nights. They also ask guests not to wear team-branded sportswear, so keep that in mind if you're coming straight from the pub or the match. On regular Friday and Saturday nights there's a £9 door charge; the rest of the week it's pay-as-you-feel on the way in, on the way out, or not at all, and every penny goes to the musicians. Since this is a Thursday, that pay-as-you-feel arrangement applies here too.
