Futuresound night headlined by The Allergies, with Andy Cooper, Marietta Smith, James Morton, Knytro, Aziza Jaye, HybridMP and KAI.
The Allergies are playing The Wardrobe on Sunday 8 November, as part of a Futuresound night. The Bristol beatmakers are the main feature, and they're bringing a full live band with them.
On stage they'll be joined by rapper Andy Cooper of Ugly Duckling, soul singer Marietta Smith of Smith & The Honey Badgers, and saxophonist James Morton, who has played with Pee Wee Ellis, Fred Wesley and The New JB's. There's a further guest list of MCs and singers too, including Chase & Status vocalist Knytro, Nubiyan Twist frontwoman Aziza Jaye, and Bristol talents HybridMP and KAI.
The Allergies are the duo of DJ Moneyshot and Rackabeat, who met on the festival circuit over a shared love of funk and hip-hop. Since their debut album in 2016, they've picked up Album of the Day gongs at BBC Radio 6 Music, landed consecutive top 40 LPs, and soundtracked international ad and TV campaigns. Moneyshot was a resident on Ninja Tune's Solid Steel, and Rolling Stone ranked him in their '25 Greatest Internet DJ Mixes of All Time'; Rackabeat is a drum 'n' bass producer who has remixed acts like Groove Armada. They cite Cut Chemist, Public Enemy's Bomb Squad, The Avalanches and vintage De La Soul as influences, and they describe their approach as sampling dusty grooves to make music for the future. They're currently wrapping up their next album, BENEATH THIS SUN, which is due in 2026.
