A relaxed Sunday gathering for worship and spiritual connection, with no performance or pretence, just people gathered in God's presence.
Spontaneous Sunday is back at Events North on Sunday 1 November, running under the title Open Room. It's a gathering for worship and spiritual connection in a community setting, and the organisers describe it as an invitation to come together, open your heart and make space for something they call a treasure to be revealed through worship.
There's a specific way they talk about the night: no performance and no pretence, just people gathered in God's presence. The whole thing draws on 2 Corinthians 4:7, 'But we have this treasure in jars of clay...', and it puts the community and the shared experience ahead of any kind of production. If you're used to worship as a polished thing to watch from a seat, this is a different approach — it's more about the people in the room than what's happening on a stage.
It's a relaxed evening, so it's as much about the company as the worship itself. If you've been looking for a space to connect with others in a spiritual way without the formality, this is exactly that kind of thing.
