Artist-led walk through Gledhow Valley Woods in which the Balbir Singh Dance Company explores nature through movement, sound and rhythm.
Balbir Singh Dance Company are leading a touch and texture walk through Gledhow Valley Woods on Friday 23 October, from 16:30 to 18:00. It's one of several artist-led walks they've staged across the city throughout October as part of the Seasons of Culture programme, each one offering a different way to experience and connect with the natural world.
This particular walk is all about touch and texture, and it's led by artists who invite you to slow down, notice your surroundings, and explore nature through movement, sound, rhythm and playful observation. It's less of a standard stroll and more of an invitation to pay attention to the things you'd usually walk right past. The Seasons of Culture series runs throughout the month, so if you're in the mood for this kind of thing, there are other walks to choose from as well.

The meeting point is Gledhow Bath House, inside Gledhow Valley Woods (LS8 4DP). It's a free event, and children under 16 need to be accompanied by a responsible adult. If you're planning to bring the kids, that's the one thing to keep in mind before you head out. It runs from 16:30 to 18:00, so it's a late-afternoon thing that'll have you back before the evening properly sets in.
