A trail to find scarecrows throughout the museum and picnic grounds, with half-term workshops to make autumn leaf luminaries.
Leeds Industrial Museum is running a Scarecrow Trail from 23 October to 1 November, part of its October half-term programme. They've tucked scarecrows away throughout the museum and out in the picnic grounds by the canal, so you'll be wandering through the galleries and then heading outside to find them all. It's the kind of thing that works well if you're out with kids over the break, as it gives them a reason to keep moving through the whole site.
There's more to it than just the trail, though. On Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, the museum runs drop-in half-term workshops from 10.30am to 12pm and 12.30pm to 2pm. You can make autumn leaf luminaries and other seasonal crafts, so it's a good spot to settle in for a bit if you've got a few hours to kill. If you're there on one of those days, you can do the trail and a workshop in one go.
And if you're staying on, the museum's miniature picture house is showing Mystery Matinees every day of the school holidays, so there's a film on the go whenever you fancy one. Between the trail, the workshops and the cinema, it's a decent way to fill a half-term day without having to juggle three different trips across the city.

The trail is included in museum admission, so you don't need to pay extra for it. The museum is on Canal Road, LS12 2QF, and it's closed on Mondays, so keep that in mind if you're planning your visit for the 26th.
