Free, open remembrance service for anyone who has lost a child, with secular music, poetry and acts of remembrance in the Anglican format.
Leeds Minster hosts a Saying Goodbye service on Sunday 25 October, from 5:30pm to 7:00pm. It's a remembrance service for anyone who has lost a baby at any stage of pregnancy, at birth or in infancy — whether that loss was recent or as far back as eighty years ago.
These are international remembrance services run by Mariposa International, a non-religious charity. They follow an Anglican format, filling cathedrals, minsters and abbeys with secular music, poetry and acts of remembrance. Since 2012, more than 270 of these services have been held across the UK, North America, Ireland and France, and since the pandemic they've also been streamed online. The Leeds service is open to children and adults of any faith or no faith.
