A family-friendly outdoor activity where visitors can pick their own pumpkin at the Lotherton estate as part of the autumnal programme.
Lotherton's pumpkin patch is back for 2026, and it's one of those things that runs for a good while rather than just a single weekend. The main dates to keep in mind are Saturday 17 October and Sunday 25 October, but the patch is actually open on weekends from 3 October and on weekdays from 19 October right through to 31 October, so you've got plenty of room to fit it in when it suits you. It opens from 10:00.
The setup is simple: you wander through the patch and pick out your own pumpkin, with plenty of photo opportunities along the way, and then you take your gourd home to decorate. It's billed as a family-friendly outdoor activity, the kind of thing that gets a household into the Halloween spirit well before the day actually arrives. It's part of the estate's wider autumnal programme, so it's not the only thing going on around the grounds.
There are two things to sort before you head out. First, you'll need general admission tickets to get onto the site itself. Second, the pumpkin patch is a separate cost, payable on the day: £4 per person for entry to the field, which includes the pumpkin. Under-12-month-olds and carers get free entry to the field, though that doesn't include a pumpkin. So, you'll want to book your general admission in advance and then have a few pounds ready when you arrive.
