Talk by Nina Hunter, founder of Saltaire Art School, and Analogue Studio about the creative processes behind their work.
Process Leeds 006 is on at The Attic on Thursday 22 October, from 6:30pm to 9:30pm. It's part of the Process Events series, which brings together freelancers, founders and teams to talk through the processes behind their creative work rather than just showing the finished result. The speakers draw on their professional journeys and client projects, so it's more about how things get made than what they end up as.
Two acts are on the bill this time. Nina Hunter is a contemporary painter and illustrator who also runs Saltaire Art School in West Yorkshire. Her work has taken her to collaborate with clients like Christian Dior, Louis Vuitton, Harrods and Ferrari, so she'll be talking about a career that spans high-end commercial work and running her own school. Beside her are Tez Humphreys and Mike Johns of Analogue Studio, a Leeds-based brand and motion studio. They describe their partnership as something like Reeves & Mortimer or Morecambe & Wise, but with a strong design focus, so you'll hear how they work as a duo.
The night is organised by Right Aligned, which is part of the Process Events collection, and it's sponsored by The 3Key. It's hosted at The Attic, an independent community space in Leeds city centre that regularly puts on gigs and talks. The main events room holds 200, and there are additional spaces for creative practice around it.
