Art pop duo Pomelo play The Packhorse in Woodhouse, with support from local acts Dinnerbone and Ponzo.
Pomelo play The Packhorse on Saturday 24 October, with support from Dinnerbone and Ponzo. It's an upstairs show at the venue, which sits at 208 Woodhouse Lane in Woodhouse, LS2 9DX.
Pomelo are an Amsterdam-conceived art pop duo, and they describe their sound as hyper-tangible electronic art pop. That's a fair bit to unpack: the spoken word, the lush ethereal vocals, and the modular ambient noise that runs through it. It's a mix that puts the voice and the electronics on equal footing, with the ambient noise providing a textural backdrop for the more melodic elements to sit in. If you're into electronic music that doesn't shy away from the song side of things, this is exactly where it lands.
They're not coming alone, either. Dinnerbone and Ponzo are both local acts, and they'll be opening the night before Pomelo take over. Having local support on the bill means the evening starts with Leeds artists before the headliners bring their sound over from the Continent, so it's a good chance to catch a few different things in one sitting.
