Paint and Sip - Northern Lights

Paintvine are bringing their paint-and-sip sessions to The Alchemist on Greek Street, with the Northern Lights as the subject of the night. It's on Thursday 22 October, from 7pm to 9pm, so it's a mid-week thing rather than a weekend one.

If you've never done one of these, the setup is straightforward. You get your own canvas and paints, and a professional artist leads the room through the painting step-by-step. They break the image down into manageable bits, so you're just following along rather than staring at a blank white square and wondering where to start. It's designed to be accessible, which means you don't need any painting experience to get through it — complete beginners and more experienced painters end up in the same room, and everyone leaves with their own version of the Northern Lights to take home. The full setup and the clean-up are handled for you, and they take photos throughout the night.

Paintvine run these across the UK, in more than 20 cities, and they've had over 80,000 guests come through their sessions. They pitch the format as something that works for dates, birthdays, celebrations or team socials, so it's as much about the company as it is about the painting. The session runs from 7pm to 9pm at The Alchemist on Greek Street, Leeds LS1 5SH, and tickets are £35.37 — drinks aren't included in that, but you can buy them from the venue bar.
