Laid-back open mic night for under-25s to share their creative work, run by Leeds Libraries in partnership with Launchpad.
Leeds Libraries are running an Open Mic at Leeds Central Library on Wednesday 30 June, from 5:30pm to 7pm. It's a session they put on in partnership with Launchpad, which is delivered by Music Local and supported by Youth Music.
The whole thing is open to under-25s, so it's a space for younger people to get on stage. If you're under 16, you'll need to be accompanied by a parent or carer, and you'll need to register beforehand. They describe it as a laid-back space for anyone to share their creative work, whether you're experienced or just want to try something new, so it works as a first time on stage as much as a spot for someone who's been doing this a while.
There's a strict code of conduct in place, with a zero-tolerance policy on racism, sexism, ableism, homophobia and any prejudice against identity or body. The venue is wheelchair accessible, and assistance and guide dogs are welcome.

Behind the scenes, the session is funded by the National Lottery through Arts Council England, PPL Giving, Bradford Council, Leeds City Council — which is funded by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund — and the PRS Foundation's Talent Development Partnership supported by PPL. It runs on Wednesday 30 June from 5:30pm to 7pm at Leeds Central Library, Calverley Street, Leeds LS1 3AB.
