Co-headline gig featuring Nina Winder-Lind and heka, with support from Troutflies.
Nina Winder-Lind and heka co-headline at The Attic on Wednesday 28 October, with Troutflies opening the bill. It's a double bill of two artists who both work with folk and electronics, though they come at it from different angles.
Winder-Lind is a Brighton-based Swedish songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, best known as a member of the 'Hagstone rock' band The New Eves. Their debut album, The New Eve Is Rising, was a breakout success in 2025 and got a strong reception from Clash, who called it 'an unforgettable debut'. Her solo work runs alongside the band but stands apart from it: she released the single and video 'This Is Our Life' via Transgressive, following her three-track EP The Spirit Is Carnal in 2023 and her first poetry collection RΓΆd Ska Jag Leva in 2025. Her debut solo album Wild Love pulls from a wide range of influences, from Patti Smith, Lou Reed, Buffy Sainte Marie and Nina Simone to experimental composers like Steve Reich and Philip Glass.
heka, also known as Francesca Brierley, is an experimental artist and producer whose songwriting merges folk, ambient and lo-fi electronics. She's shared stages with John Maus, Sam Burton, New Road and The New Eves, and in 2025 formed Dorothy with Marco Pini and Jude Woodhead, whose debut EP Sea Songs came out via Angel Tapes. Between the two, there's a shared thread of folk and electronic textures, though Winder-Lind's solo work leans into a mix of singer-songwriter traditions and minimalist composition, while heka's songwriting sits closer to ambient and lo-fi electronics.
