Musical theatre rave with West End and Broadway anthems, themed performers, live entertainment, singalongs and lip-sync battles.
Musical Theatre Raves are back at O2 Academy Leeds on Saturday 5 December, with the organisers calling it their biggest show yet. If you've been before, you'll know the basic setup: it's a night where West End and Broadway show tunes are played as a rave, so the whole thing runs as a party rather than a seated concert.
The music is non-stop musical theatre anthems, with themed performers and live entertainment running alongside. There are mass singalongs and lip-sync battles throughout the night, and you're encouraged to turn up dressed as your favourite musical character, so it's as much about what you wear as what you hear. It's the kind of night where the crowd is a big part of the show, rather than just watching from the edge of the dancefloor.

It's a long one, too. Doors open at 16:00, and the curfew is 21:30, so you've got plenty of time to get settled and get into the spirit before things really kick off. The venue is O2 Academy Leeds, 55 Cookridge Street, LS2 3AW, right in the city centre.
