Liverpool soul and R&B artist MT Jones, with guests, plays the Brudenell Social Club.
MT Jones plays Brudenell Social Club on Wednesday 21 October, with doors opening at 19:30. He'll be joined by guests, and the night is promoted by Futuresound.
Jones is a soul and R&B artist from Liverpool. He describes his sound as blending the warmth of 60s and 70s greats with modern R&B and jazz, rooted in live instrumentation and a powerful, vulnerable voice. It's a description that sits somewhere between the old-school soul of the mid-century and the more contemporary end of the genre, with the live band at the centre of it. He's been named an 'Artist to Watch for 2026', and the comparisons that have followed place him in the company of Donny Hathaway, Carole King and D'Angelo — three very different songwriters who all share a certain kind of melodic, voice-first sensibility.
That radio support has been steady, with play across BBC Radio 2, BBC 6 Music, Jazz FM and BBC Introducing, and Jo Whiley has been one of the voices championing him. He's also recorded a live session at BBC Maida Vale Studios, which is usually a good sign of where a new artist is heading. On the road, he's toured internationally with Jalen Ngonda and supported Lauryn Hill, so he's well-used to playing in front of crowds that know their soul and R&B.
