A live tribute to Electric Light Orchestra with a full band, strings, vocals and a light and video show, for all ages.
Mr. Blue Sky: The Out-of-This-World Tribute to ELO comes to Leeds Grand Theatre on Wednesday 6 January 2027, starting at 7:30pm. It's a live tribute to Electric Light Orchestra, presented by Entertainers, and it's built around the specific sound that made ELO stand out: a full live band backed by strings and vocals. The strings aren't just a backing track, they're on stage, which is a good part of why it works as a tribute to a band that put orchestral arrangements right at the centre of their pop songs.
That orchestral side is paired with a light and video show, and the set takes you through a good run of the group's hits. You'll hear 'Mr. Blue Sky', 'Livin' Thing', 'Sweet Talkin' Woman', 'Evil Woman', 'Don't Bring Me Down' and 'Telephone Line' — the kind of songs that most people recognise from the radio, even if they've never owned an ELO record. The production is touring nationwide and isn't affiliated with any of the original artists, estates or management companies.
It's part of the Rewind series at Leeds Grand Theatre, so if you're planning on seeing more than one show in the run, there's a 20% saving when you book tickets for two or more. The age guidance is for all ages, though parental guidance is recommended, and there's a heads-up about flashing lights, strobe lighting, mist and loud noises throughout the night.
