Alternative Christmas party with rock, metal and punk music and local vinyl DJs, with a spooky winter solstice theme for over-18s.
Merry Spookmas comes to Hyde Park Book Club on Friday 18 December, an alternative Christmas night that swaps the usual festive playlist for rock, metal and punk. Local vinyl DJs will be playing throughout the night, so the music comes from records rather than a laptop.
It's billed as a Christmas party with a difference, or a night out away from the working Christmas scene, and it leans into a spooky winter solstice theme. The organisers describe it as a warm, friendly gathering for over-18s only, and the whole thing is put on by Obsidia Events.
If you're not in the mood for the standard tinsel-and-carols side of December, this is a way to mark the season without the usual festive tropes. It's an all-ages-at-heart night that keeps things strictly for adults, with the rock, metal and punk on vinyl running from the start through to the end.
