Live music gig with MACHUKHA and Healing Wound, plus Acceptance, at Boom Leeds in Canalside.
MACHUKHA play Boom on Tuesday 10 November, with Healing Wound and Acceptance on the bill. It's a night of punk, hardcore and metal, the three sounds the venue is built around.
If you've been around the Leeds scene for a while, you'll know Boom as a grassroots space run mostly by volunteers. For more than ten years it sat in Byron Street Mills on Millwright Street, where it grew from a handful of practice rooms into a multi-stage venue. That run ended in March 2025 when the landlord called in the lease and the doors closed. After six months of fundraising and volunteer work, it reopened in May 2025 at Canalside Community Music Space on Armley Road. The new home is a 200-capacity room with its own bar, and it's part of a larger not-for-profit community interest company that also houses rehearsal rooms and a recording studio.
On the night, MACHUKHA take the main slot, with Healing Wound and Acceptance supporting. It's a lineup that fits the room's focus on the heavier end of the underground, so if you're into punk, hardcore and metal, this is exactly the kind of night Boom is set up for.
