Leeds Zine Library Lates: Hallow'zine!

Leeds Zine Library Lates is back at Leeds City Library on Wednesday 21 October, this time with a Halloween theme they've called Hallow'zine!. It's a free session that runs from 17:30 to 19:30, and it's part of a regular that happens on the last Wednesday of every month at the library.

If you've never been, the Lates follow a pretty consistent format: each one is built around a workshop, self-led activities, a badge maker and music. They're pitched as a chance to meet other zine makers, get inspired by the library's collections and pick up some new skills, and they're suitable for ages 16 and over. It's a low-pressure way to spend a Wednesday evening if you're into zines or just fancy seeing what the scene is like.

This Halloween edition leans into the spooky side of things. The organisers have promised cats, bats and a monster of a party, with spooky zine making, monster badges and felt creatures to sew while a Halloween playlist plays in the background. So if you're not usually one for the workshop side of things, you can just hang out with the music and the badge maker, or settle in and make something from scratch.

It's free to attend, and since it's a mid-week evening session, it works well if you're just popping in after work or college. You'll find it at Leeds City Library on Calverley Street, LS1 3AB, on Wednesday 21 October from 17:30 to 19:30.
