Weekly Friday Reggaeton, Latin and Baile Funk night with RnB and Hip Hop upstairs, live dancers and free carnival props.
Bella Gente returns to The Backroom on Friday 20 November, the latest edition of Leeds' weekly Friday fiesta. It's been running since 2013 and is billed as the city's biggest, drawing more than 1,000 people across two floors and going until 6am. The whole night is built around a 'Reggaeton vs RnB & Hip Hop' split, so you can move between the two styles without leaving the building.
Downstairs is the Latin side: Reggaeton, Latin and Baile Funk from DJs Diogo Vaz and Boris Paolo. Upstairs takes the other half, with RnB, Hip Hop and House from Ralph Hackett and DJ FLEX. With four DJs across the two floors, the music doesn't stop, and you can switch between the rooms as the night goes on. There are live dancers throughout, free carnival props to get involved with, and a smoking terrace for when you need a breather.
It's run in association with Voodoo Events and is strictly over-18s. Last entry is at 1am, so if you're coming from elsewhere, you'll want to be in before then. There's a smart-casual dress code, so keep that in mind before you head out.
