A soul music tribute show by Dayton Grey, covering classics by Billy Ocean and Luther Vandross, at Bibis Italianissimo Restaurant & Cocktail Bar.
Kings of Soul comes to Bibis Italianissimo Restaurant & Cocktail Bar on Monday 7 December, with Dayton Grey taking the stage from 18:30 to 21:30. It's a tribute show that pays homage to two of R&B's biggest voices, and Grey splits the set between them. One half is Billy Ocean's feel-good classics, with 'Caribbean Queen', 'Love Really Hurts Without You' and 'When the Going Gets Tough' on the list. The other half turns to Luther Vandross, covering favourites like 'Never Too Much', 'Here and Now' and 'Dance with My Father'.
The night is staged at Bibis Italianissimo, an authentic, family-owned Italian restaurant and cocktail bar in Leeds city centre that's been trading since 1974. Its stage comes alive bi-weekly with live performances, and this show is part of Bibis Showtime, the venue's long-running tribute series. The series has been running for almost two decades and draws on jazz, Motown and cover bands, billing itself as dinner, show and dance, with a side dancefloor for guests to get moving.
