Family-friendly Halloween ghost walk for younger visitors with silly tales, at Temple Newsam Home Farm during half-term.
Temple Newsam Home Farm is running its Junior Ghost Walk this half-term, with slots on Wednesday 28 October at 1:30pm and Saturday 31 October at 10:30am and 1:30pm. It's aimed at younger visitors, and the whole thing takes about an hour.
It's one of the gentler entries in the estate's Halloween line-up. The walk is built around a cauldron of silly tales, and the organisers describe it as the magic and mystery of the season without the frights — more about fun and laughter than anything that'll keep a child awake at night. If you've got little ones who aren't quite ready for a proper scare, this is the one to pick.
It sits alongside a fair few other things on at the estate over the half-term. In the Joiner's Shop at Home Farm, there are quizzes, activities and self-led crafts. Over in the Walled Garden, they're running free pumpkin-carving sessions. Inside the house, Halloween Hauntings lets you meet some of the estate's past residents, including the notorious Blue Lady. And for the older crowd, there's Cellar Scares down in the cellar, which is for ages 12 and above.

The Junior Ghost Walk is included in the admission fee, but you have to pre-book your slot. With three dates to choose from, you can fit it in mid-week or on Halloween itself.
