Work-in-progress stand-up night where comedians Josh Jones and Hayley Ellis work through new material at Hyde Park Book Club.
Josh Jones and Hayley Ellis share a bill at Hyde Park Book Club on Sunday 10 January, both working through new material in a work-in-progress format. It's a double bill of Northern comedians, each using the night to test out bits they're still shaping, so you'll be hearing things that aren't quite finished yet.
Josh Jones was born and bred in Manchester and has moved from open spots to regular slots at some of the country's biggest comedy clubs, including the Glee. He's appeared on 8 out of 10 cats, Countdown and Would I Lie to You?, and is currently in series 3 of Last One Laughing while building a new tour show. That tour show is what he'll be working on here.
Hayley Ellis was in a girlband in the 90s, and she frames her set around the question of what she would be doing today if she'd actually made it. It's a good starting point for a set that looks back at that time and wonders about the alternative.
