18+ live gig at Wharf Chambers, a workers' co-op venue in Leeds, headlined by Jesus And The Zealots with Masi Masi and Tiss Vampiric.
Jesus And The Zealots play Wharf Chambers on Thursday 22 October, with Masi Masi and Tiss Vampiric on the bill. It's part of the band's first UK tour celebrating the release of their debut EP, The Mask.
They're a London-based psychedelic goth act, and they describe their sound as steeped in old English folklore, dark wicca and the occult. It's not just about the music, either — they front a theatrical live show, so there's as much to look at as there is to listen to. If you've got a thing for the darker, more atmospheric side of things, this is exactly their territory.
Wharf Chambers is a bar and venue in the centre of Leeds, run as a workers' co-op and members' club. It's a not-for-profit space for music, art, film, politics and discussion, and it sits on the ground floor of a Victorian former pork pie factory on Wharf Street, on the edge of The Calls behind the Corn Exchange. There's a beer garden, and a free Radical Lending Library stocks books on race, gender, sexuality, queerness, class and radical politics. The venue works to a safer spaces agreement, and it's accessible with gender-neutral toilets and a permanent hearing loop.
